Diammonium Phosphate - 1 Lb

Description

Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) is a highly effective source of nitrogen for yeast, with optimal usage of 0.5 to 0.75 grams per gallon (1/2 teaspoon per 5 gallons) of must. This helps yeast to perform more efficiently and reduces the likelihood of later issues with hydrogen sulfide.

DAP is used as a fertilizer. DAP is also used as a yeast nutrient in winemaking and brewing mead, as an additive in some brands of cigarettes purportedly as a nicotine enhancer, to prevent afterglow in matches, in purifying sugar, as a flux for soldering tin, copper, zinc and brass and to control precipitation of alkali-soluble and acid-insoluble colloidal dyes on wool.
